About the Museum

Let the Museum introduce itself

About Museum of Tarot

Museum of Tarot (or Bảo Tàng Tarot in Vietnamese), founded in 2016 (will officially open in 2017), is located in Can Tho City, in the south of Vietnam. The museum has three themes: Lithotherapy, Cartomancy and Demonology.

It is combined from six main collections related to Tarology:

Fortune Telling Cards (Tarot and Oracles decks), Historical Books and Documents on Cartomancy, Art of Cardmaking and Decoration of Fortune Telling Cards; Amulets and Talismans and Magical Tools; Lithotherapy Crystals and Charmestones; Demonological and Sacred Books and Haunted Objects.

The museum is established in an ancient noble hotel, called “the citron house”, under the Vietnamese renaissance style. This house is sacrificed for the museum by an old couple of lawyer, Anh Ngo and Duong Ho in 2015.

BBB075:“Embracing Spontaneity: The Meaning of The Fool in Tarot”

Lá O. The Fool

BBB075

The Fool Card in Tarot: Voluntary Beginnings and Spontaneity

The Fool card, numbered 0, is the first card in the Major Arcana of Tarot. It represents a perfect, pristine, and pure beginning. The Fool doesn’t have a specific position, so it can be seen as both the opening and closing card of the Major Arcana .

Meaning of The Fool:

  • Beginnings: This card propels us into a new phase, encouraging us to expand limitations and seek fresh ideas.
  • Voluntary: The Fool embodies absolute freedom and trust in life. Its spirit is fearless, always merging with the soul of existence.
  • Spontaneity: The card reflects spontaneity, wildness, and unwavering faith in the primal self.

The imagery of The Fool is equally significant. The butterfly symbolizes innocent dreams, while the child in the pink represents naivety at the start of a journey. The mountain backdrop signifies the heights of knowledge that the characters in this Tarot card have yet to ascend. The moon represents the subconscious and the unknown. The figure floating behind represents cautiousness tossed by the wind, loss of control, and uncertainty .

BBB074: “The Rumi Tarot: Combining Sufi Spirituality and Rumi’s Poetry in a Tarot Deck”

 The Rumi Tarot

BBB074

The Rumi Tarot**, based on Sufi traditions as interpreted by the medieval Persian mystic Rumi, was meticulously painted by Nigel Jackson. Rumi's poetry celebrates love and its ability to set us free, embodying the spiritual philosophy of "tawhid" – seeking union with the beloved from which we've all been separated. Nigel Jackson, a well-known artist and illustrator in the Western Esoteric Tradition, created this mystical and contemplative Tarot deck. The Rumi Tarot adheres to traditional structures with 78 cards, including the Priestess (High Priestess) and Fortitude (Strength). The four suits are Swords, Cups, Staves, and Coins, with Court cards titled King, Queen, Knight, and Page. The boxed set includes the 78-card deck, a black organdy Tarot bag, and a 312-page companion book. Jackson's focus was to create a tool for spiritual knowledge, inner guidance, and contemplation. The imagery draws from Eastern traditions, making it a captivating addition to the Tarot world
