Tarot de Marseille: Review by Paul Marteau
When I read tarot for my clients, I don’t arrange the cards in a specific way within a certain timeframe. Instead, I let the cards indicate the specific timing. From the beginning of October, the Christmas season starts to emerge, it’s within our reach. There are only 76 days left until Christmas! Yesterday, I saw two very different examples of the arrival of Christmas.

About the Tarot de Marseille deck by Paul Marteau
- The deck consists of 78 cards and a small guidebook placed in a soft paper box. Practitioners of the RWS (Rider-Waite-Smith) tarot are usually accustomed to large, sturdy boxes and may be surprised to receive a tarot deck in such a thin cardboard package, considering it a low-end product. However, the Tarot de Marseille decks are typically accompanied by small sheets summarizing the use of tarot very briefly. The tarot community considers learning tarot through reading books, attending courses, or training. Additionally, the Tarot de Marseille has been standardized, so all versions are nearly identical, except for a few minor details, hence publishers do not need to provide additional information through a guide. Of course, the original and unique RWS tarot deck comes with a guide explaining the deck’s unique features. The cards in this set are standard size, about 12x6 cm, easy to handle for those with smaller hands. The printing material is a sufficiently thick type of plastic-coated card, and the print quality is normal and standard.
