Tứ sắc (Four Colors) is a popular Vietnamese
card game, commonly played in the central and southern regions of Vietnam. The
game has its origins in China and is considered a precursor to the development
of the three-card and “tôm” (shrimp) card sets in Vietnam.
Structure of Tứ sắc:
·
Each Tứ sắc deck
consists of 112 cards, divided into 7 “đạo quân” (armies).
·
Each “đạo quân”
contains 16 cards, evenly distributed among 4 colors: blue, red, white, and
yellow.
·
The card ranks
include: General (Tướng), Soldier (Lính), Elephant (Tượng), Tank (Xe Tăng),
Cannon (Pháo), Horse (Ngựa), and Pawn (Tốt).
Game Rules:
1. Dealing: The dealer selects the first player. Each player receives
5 cards per round, divided into 4 rounds for a total of 20 cards.
2. Drawing: If a player has no valid cards to play, they must draw
from the “Venom” pile (remaining cards in the center).
3. Objective: Complete the total number of cards in your hand by forming
valid combinations (“đi”) and discarding unwanted cards.
