This book is excerpted from the complete BIBLE published by the Ho Chi Minh City Publishing House in 1998. The publication was assisted by the UNITED BIBLE SOCIETIES VNCL 242. Christians always seek a deep understanding of the Word of God. Around the world, the Bible has been translated into many local languages, and translation work continually progresses to reflect the development of Biblical studies and the constant evolution of language.
I feel joy knowing that the LITURGY OF THE HOURS Translation Team, including priests and religious with expertise in the Bible and other fields such as education, liturgy, literature, and music, have served the Church by researching and translating the Bible from the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts.
The team has completed the translation of the LITURGY OF THE HOURS, a version accepted by the Vietnamese Episcopal Council as a liturgical text and published by the Liturgical Committee. Now, they have also completed the translation of the New Testament, accompanied by introductions and annotations. I express my profound gratitude to God for granting them the patience and strength to work over a long period and in circumstances that were not always favorable, to complete this significant collective work.
