Le Lotus Bleu
“Le Lotus Bleu” (1946):
“Le Lotus Bleu” is one of the most important albums that Hergé created for the Tintin series. Initially, this album was published in “Le Petit Vingtième” from August 9, 1934, to October 17, 1935. The album was published in book form in 1936 with 124 black and white pages. A fully color-edited version was published in 1946, in which the first four pages were completely redrawn, and some minor changes were made to the rest of the book. Chang Chong-ren, a Chinese student at the Académie de Bruxelles, had a significant influence on Hergé. Chang taught Hergé how to draw and use Chinese techniques, and provided information about real life in China.
“Le Lotus Bleu” is the album that marked the graphical development of Hergé, transforming Tintin into the character we know today.
