Book of Shadows Tarot – As Above
The renowned Tarot researcher Barbara Moore, author of dozens of Tarot books, conceived the idea for the two-deck series Book of Shadows, with As Above being the first deck in the series. The imagery of As Above depicts energies belonging to the universe and the divine, contrasting with the other deck in the series, So Below, which portrays the everyday life of humans on Earth. As Above draws on Wiccan beliefs and rituals, illustrating them in the forms of gods and goddesses, Sabbat rituals, and spell work, set against a vivid, multi-colored Pagan backdrop. The card names are inspired by Wiccan culture, although they still closely follow the basic Rider-Waite-Smith standard.
The accompanying guidebook provides intriguing concepts about Pagan/Wiccan culture as well as interpretations of the deck, some useful spreads, and is printed in color. The deck's box, designed by Lo Scarabeo, is a sturdy box with a magnetic closure.
